I got hit over the head with an ax!

No it was just sinus surgery sillies!- ha gotcha! Wow, how can I describe the feeling...think of the stuffiest nose you have ever had then times it by 10 and then add the worst headache you have had but times 20! But really the pain is not so bad, its the pressure feeling that is more annoying. Everything went really well with the surgery! I had such a great experience before surgery with a heated bed/blankets and warm soft cozy socks and gown and my own personal nurse, who was so kind and caring! I felt like a queen! And, I didn't get sick from the anesthesia like I usually do because the anesthesiologist had a long conversation with me about what he would do to prevent that. The key is to triple the amount of fluid they give you through the IV so you stay incredibly hydrated and the meds go through your system quickly. I remember being wheeled into the OR and seeing lots of cords and machines and the big light and mirror above me, taking a deep breath then the next thing I knew I woke up to the feeling of an ax in my head and having to pee very badly! (all the fluids!) That day I physically couldn't open my eyes. But I haven't needed any prescription pain meds just extra strength Tylenol. I wasn't necessarily asleep but I was out of it and tried to force my eyes open but they wouldn't budge. It was pretty funny though because my mom and Jeremy couldn't tell if I was awake or not so sometimes they were talking about me like I wasn't there...that was probably the most, by most I mean only, humorous part of surgery day for me. They have taken such good care of me! And now it's three days after surgery and I'm feeling pretty good, my mom and I even went to Stein Mart and Cost Plus today! I had to get out of the house! But its still hard to breathe through my mouth and I have some scars/scabs on under my nostrils still and bruising on my face that don't look so pleasant so I didn't want to scare too many people:) I was pretty exhausted after about an hour and a half but it was so nice to feel the light of day! Right now I have packing and a magnet in my nose to hold my septum in place while healing takes place. I will get everything out on Wednesday and I'm really looking forward to that so I can breath through my nose again! That will be the first time in literally 8-9 years that I have been to breath out of my nose!!YA HOO! I cant wait! There isn't much pain now and the packing is just getting super annoying now! I have to do these nasal rinses every couple of hours too and those are not too much fun either! But that's it! Everything else is great! I'm so excited to be able to breathe again. My mom leaves tomorrow so I'm bummed about that but I'm definitely feeling well enough to make my own food etc. and my hubby's still here of course. He is such a servant when I'm ill! Ill update you when I can pass air through my nostrils..Oh Happy Day!
